D'Angelo Taylor, Macomb, IL; appointed  to serve October 30, 2012 to June 30, 2013.

D'Angelo Taylor, a graduate student in Public Administration originally from Richmond, Virginia, was appointed by the Student Government Association to serve as Student Representative to the Board of Trustees from October 30, 2012 to June 30, 2013. D'Angelo earned his bachelor's degree in 2011 in Political Science, from Western Illinois University.

D'Angelo did not hesitate to get involved in various activities when he first came to Western Illinois University. He attended the first Thompson Hall Government meeting as a floor representative and was elected hall government secretary the next week. D'Angelo served as Resident Assistant for Thompson Hall as well as Thompson Hall representative to Inter-Hall Council. In Inter-Hall Council, he has served on the issues committee which helped with major issues in the residence halls. He also participated in the decision-making process to determine room and board rates for incoming students. D'Angelo was selected to be a Chapter Core member of Students Today Leaders Forever in 2008, and traveled to six cities during spring break to do volunteer work. D'Angelo previously served as the student member of the Board of Trustees from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010. He has also served as the Student Government Association Speaker of the Senate for the 44th Legislative Session as well as Senator-at-large. D'Angelo is also a student assistant in the Centennial Honors College here at Western Illinois University.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, D'Angelo will be dedicated to representing the students and helping unite the student voice. He plans to increase awareness among the students and work to build more partnerships with the administration, city, and community. "My main priority will be working to build a foundation for the student voice here at Western Illinois University. And with that in mind, we must all have a hand in making our University prosper for years to come."
