Professional Activities, Grants and Contracts

  • Dean Alexander—LEJA and Homeland Security, published "Offline and Online Radicalization and Recruitment of Extremists and Terrorists" in the Homeland Security Institute's Journal of Homeland Security in September. He also presented on U.S. extremist/terrorist groups and the Internet at a seminar of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in Maryland in August.
  • Jonathan Day, political science, presented "The Strategy and Effects of Presidential Campaigns" at the 2010 Annual Meetings of the American Political Science Association, held Sept. 2-5 in Washington, D.C.  
  • Janna Deitz, political science, (and Michael Crespin) published the article "If You Can't Join 'Em, Beat 'Em: The Gender Gap in Individual Donations to Congressional Candidates" in Political Research Quarterly, September 2010, Vol. 63, No. 3, 581-593. 
  • Jennifer McNabb, history, received the Rocky Mountain Medieval and Renaissance Association's 2010 Delno C. West Award for Best Conference Paper by a Senior Scholar for her paper "'Talk of Marriage' in Northwest England: Continuity and Change in Matrimonial Litigation, 1560-1640."
