  1. Film Club Living-Learning Community Screening: Annie Hall: February 23, Simpkins 220, 4-6pm, LLC students
  2. Join WASC/WIU and Film Club for a special film event at 6:00 pm in Morgan 101B. The film choice was put to a vote, and the top two choices are tied. So, they'll either be watching Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark or the movie Life in a Day.

Sigma Tau Delta Events:

Dinner and Conversations: TOPIC: “Murder at the Old Bailey: An Evening of Sherlockian Detection” At this semester's Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society’s Dinner & Conversations event, to be hosted by Dr. Magdelyn Helwig, we will bring detective fiction to life in an evening of mystery and murder. We will begin with a brief overview of the classic elements of detection used by the infamous Sherlock Holmes, and then, whilst mingling and enjoying a delectable range of finger foods, we will put our powers of observation to use in unraveling a murder mystery featuring authors and literary characters. When: April 7; Where: Old Bailey House; When: 5:30pm.
  3. STD Induction Ceremony This year's Sigma Tau Delta induction ceremony, for the students who joined in the fall and spring semesters, will be held at our house in Colchester on Monday , May 1, 2017. We will start to gather at 5:00 p.m., and we will hold the ceremony at 5:30 p.m., followed by cake and refreshments. We have 16 initiates for 2016-2017. At the induction ceremony, the initiates will receive their certificates and pins, and the outgoing chapter officers will be honored.

Boiler Room Reading Series

The readings will all be from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the University Art Gallery on the dates below:

  2. 2017 CAS Talks Series every Wednesday in April at 4:00pm in Morgan 101A. The first talk will be April 12th with Dr. Shazia Rahman from the English department presenting "Women and the Environment in Pakistan and Beyond." Sponsored by: CAS Faculty Research and Scholarship Committee
  3. Kevin Stein Reading - Illinois Poet - Old Bailey House - April 13
  4. National Poetry Month, University Libraries will host two poetry-themed events in the month of April: a Blackout Poetry Workshop on Monday, April 17th , from noon to 1; and Poem In Your Pocket Day, all day on April 27th (Malpass Library and New Copperfield Books on the square).   5. Poetry Festival - Cultural Expressions/Open Mic - April 20, 2017 - 12-1pm - Multicultural Center
  6. Poetry Festival - John Hallwas - April 21, 2017 - 2-3pm - Regional Arts Center on Macomb Square: he will present a talk entitled,"Voices and Visions: Nineteenth-Century Illinois Poetry.” This talk will be the culminating event of the 2nd Annual Macomb Poetry Festival. The talk will be recorded for local television, and will be aired in the summer.
  7. SITREP Reading: On Wednesday, May 10 from 4:00-5:30 in the University Art Gallery, contributors from this year's edition of SITREP: Veteran Perspectives on Combat and Peace will be reading from their work. The magazine includes fiction, non-fiction, poetry and art from veteran and service members who are WIU students, alumni, faculty and staff.

WIU Game Studies Group:
