Accessibility
Web accessibility is a top priority for the Department of English & Journalism.
Help
We want to make this site accessible to everyone. To that end, we ask you to report accessibility problems or suggest improvements. Please contact Tamara L Irwin, by phone (309-298-1103) or by postal mail: Department of English & Journalism, Western Illinois University, 1 University Circle, Macomb, IL 61455. If we can’t solve your problem, we’ll provide site content in a format you can use.
Simpkins Hall University Writing Center Accessibility
The Simpkins Hall Writing Center is located one flight of stairs above the third floor. If you are unable to climb those stairs, take the elevator to the third floor. Turn right as you exit the elevator and proceed down the hallway. Look for a phone in a doorway on your right. If you pick up the telephone receiver, it will automatically dial the Writing Center and a consultant will come downstairs to work with you.
Standards
We have designed this site with the hopes of meeting the Illinois Information Technology Accessibility Act (IITAA) guidelines. Because these standards are based on Section 508 and the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), we believe our site will meet or exceed those guidelines.
Lactation Room
Simpkins Hall 025A is a dedicated lactation room. For more information view the Compliance with Nursing Mothers in the Workplace Act.
