Ellen has been an academic advisor at WIU since 1998.  She joined the English & Journalism Department in 2002.  Ellen takes a developmental approach to advising, assisting students not only in selecting courses each semester, but also in developing a sense of self-reliance and proper decision-making skills in regard to their college experience, so they can make informed decisions about their majors, coursework and career options. 

In her spare time, Ellen enjoys hanging out with her husband and daughter, reading, watching her daughter ride horses and play volleyball, and sitting in front of the fireplace watching old movies.
