John Schulze teaches academic and creative writing. His creative work is presented under the pseudonym Penn Stewart. He is the author of the novel Fertile Ground, and he's published personal essays, book reviews, articles, poetry, and numerous short stories in journals and magazines. His most recent work has appeared or is forthcoming in Night Train, Conclave: A Journal  of CharacterPrairie Schooner, Two Hawks Quarterly, Ellipsis, Word Riot, Dogplotz, A River and Sound Review, The Meadowland Review, and elsewhere.
