Lisa Kernek joined the journalism program in 2006 and teaches news reporting and photojournalism. Before coming to WIU, she worked as a newspaper reporter for The State Journal-Register in Springfield, Ill., for 12 years, and at smaller papers before that. She is the faculty adviser for WIU's student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
