Leland Essay Contest

The Leland Essay Contest rewards the best writers in the Western Writing Program. All students in ENG 100, 180, and 280 are eligible to enter. Contest winners are published in Western Voices, which is used as a textbook in many composition courses. Winners in each course level get cash prizes:

  • First place: $150
  • Second place: $100
  • Third place: $50

We have not yet started collecting essays for the 2013 contest.
