Preparing Students For Geoscience Careers
Geology is a major course of study in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, & Geographic Information Sciences (EAGIS), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Successful undergraduate students receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
Our graduates enter many industrial, private, and governmental jobs in many diverse fields such as;
- environmental geology
- engineering geology
- petroleum geology
- mining geology
Many of our students go on to continue their education in graduate programs at other universities. Majors must also take related courses in mathematics, chemistry and physics, or biology.
