Dr. Mayborn's spring 2010 field trip included a trip to the famous Van Hise rock in the Baraboo, Wisconsin area

Field trips are a major component of the WIU Geology program. Courses that incorporate a field trip as part of the course include:

• Geol 301 - Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology

• Geol 320 - Structural Geology

• Geol 340 - Stratigraphy and Sedimentology

• Geol 420 - Geomorphology

• Geol 421 - Glacial Geology

Additionally, the Geology Department regularly offers a geologic field trip (Geol 461) each Fall semester
