History Grad Student Sally Adams Gives Conference Presentation
Mar 24, 2010
Sally Adams, a graduate student in History at WIU, presented her research paper on the "Kent State Shootings, May 4, 1970 & Soweto Uprising, June 16, 1976: How They Occurred and Their Impact, Then and Now" at the Conference on "Student Activism, Southern Style," hosted by the University of South Carolina on March 19-21, 2010.
Her presentation, which grew out of the research paper she wrote for Dr. Peter Cole's seminar, analyzed the ways in which these two events were turning points for student activism in their respective nations -- visible through the strikes that followed, the memorials and museums that exist, and the personal accounts of eyewitnesses.
