Undergraduate Research Day: 20 April 2011

WIU's next annual Undergraduate Research Day (URD) will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in the University Union. History majors will be among the students presenting their original research projects at the event.

Students are invited to present posters and make podium presentations of their historical research. Guidelines, Abstract Submission Forms, and additional information are now available on-line. The best senior projects will be judged for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards to be announced Friday, April 22th.

Please note that several changes will be made this year.

Earlier Abstract Deadline: Abstracts of research projects must be submitted between March 21 and April 11, 2011.

Number of Podium Sessions: Due to space and time considerations, the number of podium presentations will be limited to the first 20 acceptable abstracts; however, students whose podium abstracts are not included in this group of 20 may still make poster presentations.

Number of Senior Award Contestants: Due to the need for timely judging of poster and podium presentations, abstracts will be screened by the Undergraduate Research Day Committee for the highest quality so that 5-10 podiums and 10-12 posters submitted by individual seniors will be in competition.

12:30-3:00 p.m. Podium Presentations - Capitol and Lincoln Rooms
