ALEX HEUER WINS NATIONAL BROADCASTING AWARD

Senior History Education major Alex Heuer won a national broadcasting award from the Public Radio News Directors Inc. (PRNDI) in May. Heuer, winner of multiple broadcasting awards at the state level (see related link in blue box), was one of only eight students nationwide to win a PRNDI award this year. He won the Best News Feature Award for his "Comprehensive Tension" broadcast, part of WIUM-FM's four-part series on housing issues in Macomb. As one of this year's eight PRNDI winners, Heuer is eligible to apply for one of three PRNDI-sponsored trips to Washington, D.C. in July.
