Dr. Roberts Attends NEH Summer Institute
Aug 4, 2008
Assistant Professor Dr. Timothy Roberts recently attended the "Rethinking America in Historical Perspective" Institute funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The institute, hosted and co-sponsored by George Washington University in Washington, D.C., brought together a select group of invited faculty members from across the nation to engage in curriculum developments and conduct academic research on a variety of topics exploring American history in a global comparative perspective.
In addition to pursuing independent research, Prof. Roberts and the other participants met with noted scholars to discuss the history of the United States. Participating in this seminar allowed Dr. Roberts to draw upon the latest developments in world history, using the resources of one of the nation's premier research libraries, and to prepare to apply the fruits of that research to teaching and learning in Western's History Department.
The NEH Institute was co-sponsored by the Library of Congress, the American Historical Association, and the National History Center.
