Dr. P. Lea Monahan
Dr. P. Lea Monahan graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with her BSN and MSN and the University of Nebraska with her PhD. Dr. Monahan’s primary nursing practice specialty is children with focus on neonatal and endocrine issues. She has been the primary investigator and author of several studies in this area.
Dr. Monahan has been in nursing education for many years and is considered a curriculum and evaluation specialist. She has designed curricula for both undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing. In addition she has written items for the NCLEX, the NLN nurse educator certification exam, Assessment Technologies Institute, and publishers of NCLEX study guides. She has been involved total program evaluation for NLN and CCNE accreditation at previous schools.
Dr. Monahan is veteran and served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing, National League for Nurses, Illinois Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.
