Bertha Greishaber Fink Scholarship

Criteria

The intent of the scholarship is to assist undergraduate or graduate students in a nursing program at Western Illinois University. Students must be admitted to the School of Nursing. Applicant’s legal permanent address must be in a rural area of Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. Preference will be given to undergraduate students with financial need and a desire to work in public health or community health in rural areas of Illinois and to students enrolled in the RN-BSN Completion program.

Graduate applicants should be admitted to graduate study in public health nursing or community health nursing in either the clinical specialist program or nurse practitioner program at Western Illinois University.

Terms

The amount of the award is $1000 annually applied to students account.

Selection Process

Recipients will be selected by the Nursing Scholarship Committee in the School of Nursing.

Additional Comments

Applicants should have two (2) letters of reference sent using the attached form. Financial need IS a consideration. Preference will be given to students with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Recipients may reapply for the scholarship; it is not automatically renewable.
