Oct 16, 2009

Physics Department Faculty Dr. Kishor Kapale and Graduate student Jacob Brown attended and presented at the 93rd Annual meeting of the Optical Society of America Meeting held at San Jose, between Oct. 11-15, 2009.

Jacob Brown presented a poster on his ongoing research work with Dr. Kapale on the orbital angular momentum of light in the radio range of electromagnetic spectrum.

Dr. Kapale delivered an oral presentation on his work about novel gyroscopes using superposition of vortices in Bose-Einstein condensates.

Another of Dr. Kapale's graduate student Meenakshi Kohli was a co-author on a poster that Dr. Kapale presented at the conference on simultaneous measurement of the polarization and orbital angular momentum of light.
