Title: "Ph.D. in Medical Physics"

Abstract:

Medicine evolved and became dependent on a number of techniques, tools and physical principles. Due to these waves of advances in medical technology joining with physics, greater accuracy in methods of diagnosis and treatment has resulted. This joining of medical technology and physics has led to the formation of Medical Physics. Medical Physics is defined as a branch of Physics applications in medicine, which aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment of human disease, thus ensuring the safety of the people, our patients and those caring for them. Medical Physics department attracts attention of many students, especially Physics students. The display information regarding Medical Physics helps Physics Master's students to be knowledgeable in the areas of Medical Physics and its organizations, core courses, admission requirements and potential career fields. This will help the students make the right decision for the selection of Medical Physics as their future PhD program.

Title: "Compositional Variation of Refractive index in Lead Borate Glass"

Abstract:

A series of Lead Borate Glasses were prepared by varying PbO concentrations from 30 to 70 mol% and their refractive indices were measured using the Brewster angle method. Theoretically, the refractive index is expected to increase linearly with PbO concentration. However, the experimental values show a marked deviation at higher PbO concentrations, possibly due to the polarizing nature of PbO making additional contributions to the net polarizability.
