Oct 1, 2008

To All Physics and Pre-engineering Students!

We would like to invite you to come to a "Get- to- Know-the-Physics-Department" party on Friday, October 3rd, at 4:00 pm. The party will give you the opportunity to 1) know better each of the physics professors, those you already met in your classes and those you have only seen or heard of; 2) get to meet your fellow students, talk to the new freshmen and sophomores, or see who are the juniors and seniors, what the grad students are doing, get the latest rumor about who is the best tutor of the physics tutoring center, and so on; 3) get to know what is going on in those research labs you pass by in the halls, but never got a chance to see for yourselves; 4) find out what research the faculty are doing and what projects they could offer you; 5) enjoy a free meal, have fun and feel part of the physics family.
Program:
1) Informative session about physics facilities available, coming events in the physics department, and faculty research and students research opportunities.
Location: Currens Hall room 205
Time: 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
2) Have a picnic with the chemistry department outside (North side) of Currens Hall if weather cooperates. Otherwise, picnic changes to a pizza party at Currens 210.
Time: 5:00 pm until ...
Don't miss this chance to have fun and connect to other "physics-addicts"!
