Women's Studies - Building Strong Leaders and Advocates

Students who major in Women's Studies develop the skill to perceive and understand how one’s sex and gender contribute to our experiences and roles in the world.  Women’s Studies students learn that both men’s and women’s interactions with the social and political environments is influenced by their sex, and their experiences can be further affected by their race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Women’s Studies students can apply this skill to a variety of career fields, and while it is an excellent major on its own, Women’s Studies also complements other fields as either a double major or minor, such as law enforcement, social work, political science, psychology, sociology, fine arts, non-profit administration, nursing, and business degrees.
