Advising -- A Partnership for a Successful Academic Experience

The College of Business and Technology is dedicated to providing full-time professional advisors for all majors in the College. Our students receive high quality, individualized academic advising that is specialized to fit YOUR academic career needs.

Our advisors provide you excellent opportunities for mentoring, planning, and achieving your academic goals. We'll help you discover where and how to access resources, services, and networking available on campus.

Academic advising is a collaborative educational process whereby students and their advisors are partners in meeting the essential learning outcomes, ensuring student academic success and outlining the steps for achievement of the students’ personal, academic and career goals. This advisor/student partnership requires participation and involvement of both the advisor and the student and is developed over the student’s entire educational experience at the university. You can learn about your advising experience in the College of Business and Technology at Western Illinois University by viewing What to Expect from Your Advising Experience.
