Our mission is to provide our students with an exceptional and comprehensive education in computer science, network technologies, information systems, and other associated professional disciplines. We have many opportunities for international students wishing to study computer science in the United States!

Scholarship Opportunities

Besides offering tuition waivers and stipends to those graduate students selected to become research assistants or to teach our introductory courses, we have the following scholarships available:

International Scholarship Fund

The School of Computer Sciences has initiated an International Scholarship Fund to help defray some of the cost of attending WIU. These scholarships are currently in the amount of $500.00; we expect to be able to award two or three for the coming semester. All new international students interested in entering the MSCS program are eligible to apply. View details about the International Scholarship Fund.

Graduate Merit Scholarship

The university recently started a Graduate Merit Scholarship, available to new students who have received their degree from a "partner institution". These scholarships are calculated as a percentage of tuition; currently the total amount the scholarship for our program is over $5,000.00. We expect to be able to award as many as 20 of these scholarships for the coming semester. View details about the Graduate Merit Scholarship.

If your undergraduate institution is not listed on the above website and you are interested in being considered for the award, please contact Dr. Justin Ehrlich. It is possible an agreement can be put in place before you arrive at WIU.
