Centennial Honors College

Bachelor of Arts in General Studies

Students may complete an honors curriculum in University Honors, Upper Division Honors, or Lower Division Honors. Lower Division Honors includes General Honors coursework. Upper Division Honors includes honors work in upper division courses. University Honors combines Upper and Lower Division Honors.

Board of Trustees honors students must complete all requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in General Studies Degree.

Grade Requirements

  • 3.4 overall GPA

Lower Division Honors Requirements

  • Two General Honors seminars (6 semester hours)
  • An honors section of the First Year Experience (3 semester hours) (a General Honors seminar may be substituted in some cases)
  • GH 299 (one semester hour) The GH 299 might be waived by the Honors Advisor depending on student’s location and course availability

Upper Division Honors Requirements

  • GH 299 (might be waived by the Honors Advisor depending on student’s location and course availability)
  • 15 hours of in-course honors in classes counting towards the student’s Bachelor of Arts in General Studies degree requirements. Twelve of the 15 hours of in-course honors must be in 300-400 level classes.

University Honors

  • Two General Honors seminars (6 semester hours)
