Ray Lawson

Dr. Raymond Lawson, Director


Dr. Lawson is director of the Office of Distance Education and Support (ODES) at Western Illinois University. Former dean of Online Learning at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Illinois, he is past chair of Illinois Community Colleges Online (ILCCO); and past board member of the Instructional Technology Council (ITC). Raymond Lawson earned his doctorate and master's degrees respectively in Instructional Technology and Management Information Systems from Northern Illinois University. He also holds a master's degree in Global Economic Development from Eastern University (formerly known as Eastern College).

Dawn Sweet

Dawn Sweet, Instructional Design and Technology Specialist


Dawn Sweet has served as an Instructional Design and Technology Specialist at CITR since December of 2017, previously working as the Instructional Development Services Manager within the College of Education and Human Services at WIU for 16 years. Dawn received her B.S. in Instructional Technology and Telecommunications in 2001 and her MS Ed in Educational and Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Adult Learning and Instructional Design from Western in 2006. Her areas of specialty and focus include instructional design, technology integration, blended learning, and distance learning. You can learn more about Dawn's professional experience at .

Amy Carrigan

Amy Carrigan, Office Manager


Amy joined the CITR team as Office Manager in October, 2020. She has been employed at WIU for more than ten years, providing office support to the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology and the Department of Biological Sciences. She is a WIU alumna and a proud parent of two current WIU students.
