Sloan-C Membership Benefits

Sloan-C is a "Consortium of Institutions and Organizations Committed to Quality Online Education". Western Illinois University holds a Premium Membership with Sloan-C, which provides all members of the institution (faculty, staff and students) with full access to Sloan-C resources and discounts on Sloan-C workshops and conferences.

Provides access to the free and publicly available resources including articles, activities, and the Sloan-C Community.

Premium Membership Portal

Our premium membership also allows us access to the Premium Member resources which includes access to full text articles and discounts on publications. To access the Premium website, you will need to set up a Sloan account which will provide you with a username and password. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Sloan Consortium Registration.
  2. Click "Visitor - Free Account."
  3. In the "Search for an Organization" field, type in Western Illinois University and click Search.
  4. Scroll down to see the results of the search. Click "Select" to complete your registration.
  5. You will receive an email message from Sloan providing directions on completing your registration and changing your password. Note: You will be able to log into the Sloan Community right away, but your access to the Premium site may take up to 5 business days.

Discounts on Sloan Workshops

Our premium membership also provides 20 $150 discount coupons for the many Sloan-C workshops available online. Workshops hit on a wide variety of technology and online learning topics, and can be taken as part of an Online Teaching Certificate. The regular price for most workshops is $295. Illinois Online Network Membership Benefits

Western Illinois University is also an Illinois Online Network National Partner. As such, WIU faculty and staff are eligible for discounted rates at the following ION sponsored events, online workshops and seminars. These costs represent a 50% reduction over their non-member rates.:
