Services
The Center for Innovations in Teaching and Research provides a variety of services geared towards enhancing the teaching and research skills of the WIU faculty. To this end, CITR offers the following services:
- Teaching Services
- A core mission of CITR is to improve faculty teaching across disciplines. Pedagogical workshops and objective reviews of your teaching performance are just a few techniques used to enhance your teaching skill-set.
- Research Services
- CITR will assist faculty in developing effective research methodologies and instruments.
- One-On-One Consultations
- Skilled members of the CITR staff will work with faculty to help design effective classroom and distance instruction.
- Orientations
- CITR plans orientation sessions for new administrators and faculty members prior to the Fall semester. During this time, new-comers to the University are introduced to policies and services provided across campus.
- Country Specialist Database
- The Country Specialist Database is designed to provide a searchable index of faculty that have international experiences that other members of the campus community may find invaluable.
- Dissertation Support
- CITR assists faculty working to complete their dissertations by matching them with a like-minded senior faculty member.
- Symposiums
- Throughout the academic year, a variety of symposiums are scheduled that brings outside speakers onto campus to share new ideas with faculty.
- Provost Awards
- The Center of Innovations in Teaching and Research organizes the Provost Awards for Excellence. These awards showcase excellence in topics such as: multicultural teaching, teaching with technology, University/Community service, and other teaching and research areas.
- Faculty Mentor Program
- The faculty mentor program matches new faculty members with faculty members that have a foundation in the workings of the campus.
