Dissertation Services

The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Research offers assistance for faculty working on dissertations. Upon request, the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Research will help faculty find a mentor to guide them with writing and research and to provide criticism and feedback. The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Research will also be organizing a peer support group for dissertation writing. Peer support groups have proved successful at other institutions helping new faculty complete dissertations. Peer groups can provide a structure, encouragement, and a network through which to solve research and writing related problems. The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Research will also work with WIU Libraries to help faculty overcome resource driven research problems, e.g. acquiring books, locating periodicals and articles in both digital and print format. WIU librarians are also available to help faculty with database searching.
