Nov. 30, 2009: Grant Writing Series: Session 4 - It's Become The Most Important Part of the Proposal

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Grant Writing 101. This four-part series on grant writing will result in a knowledge base sufficient to submit state, national, and foundation-level proposals for funding. With a career total of over 2 million dollars in competitive grants, Donna will share ideas, tips, and basic grant writing knowledge. Working in a unique genre, participants will leave with increased confidence in their ability to competitively write for needed research and teaching dollars. Taken as an entire series or as individual sections that you feel need strengthened, the time will be well spent. Upon completion of the entire series, participants will receive a certificate of completion. This session focuses on writing a comprehensive program evaluation or accountability piece for your proposal. Current funders want to know that their dollars are being invested wisely. What evidence will you offer them in your proposal that your project would be a wise investment for them to make?

Dec. 03, 2009: How to Write Following APA Style Guidelines

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
A common scholarly formatting requirement is that submissions be written following APA style guidelines. The newest edition (6th edition), Internet and database citations, and the complications that arise from most of us having not received formal training in APA style have resulted in the need for updates. This session will give participants the most common APA errors (found in student and faculty writing). A great brush-up for those submitting for publication and a helpful session for faculty grading student use of APA.
