The crime log incidents posted may not match the crime statistics as reported in the Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Report per the federal Clery Act, as the crime log is compiled using the Illinois Crimes Code and the crime statistics are required by law to be compiled using the Federal Uniformed Crime Reporting definitions.

According to federal law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, e.g. the nature, date, time, location and/or disposition, if any of the following conditions apply. Disclosure is prohibited: by law; would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim; would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual; would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection; or would result in the destruction of evidence.


On Nov. 5 at 3:07 p.m. a student came to OPS to report the theft of a cell phone, valued at $200, from a Memorial Hall restroom Nov. 2. The incident is under investigation.
 
On Nov. 5 at 3:52 p.m. a student in Henninger Hall reported fraudulent charges, totaling $50, on her student identification card. The incident is under investigation.
 
On Nov. 5 at 9:42 p.m. Justin Dziwlik, 22, of 936 Wigwam Hollow Rd. was arrested on Western Avenue for driving under the influence of alcohol after an accident involving a Go West bus. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 10:05 p.m.
 
On Nov. 5 at 9:47 p.m. three students near Tanner Hall were judicially referred for cannabis possession.
 
On Nov. 5 at 9:49 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Morgan Hall. No smoke or fire was found and no injuries were reported.
 
On Nov. 6 at 9:29 a.m. a student in Tanner Hall reported the theft of laundry, valued at $94, from a Tanner Hall laundry room. The incident is under investigation.
 
On Nov. 6 at 1:25 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Sherman Hall. The alarm was activated by a steam leak and no smoke or fire was found. No injuries were reported.
 
On Nov. 7 at 12:20 a.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Thompson Hall. No smoke or fire was found and no injuries were reported.
