Skyler Jessop

It’s Hard to Beat Someone Who Never Quits

Skyler Jessop graduated from Grayslake Central High School in Grayslake, IL. In high school she meet her role model Jeanna Beerbower. She was the health teacher at the high school, but in Skyler’s eyes she was more than just a teacher. Jeanna Beerbower made Skyler and other students feel comfortable and important. Skyler’s career goal is to become an elementary physical education teacher and since she has an endorsement in health education, she would not mind teaching health as well. Skyler hopes to become an educator just as good as her role model.

Skyler has been a part of the WIU Women’s Soccer team for 4 years. The position she plays is Midfielder/Forward. She has played basketball and soccer her entire life and would aspire to be a high school basketball or soccer coach. Skyler enjoys playing sports, running, riding her bike, rollerblading and hiking. Skyler will begin her student teaching experience in Fall 2016.

Skyler’s favorite quote that she would like to share is “Anyone can give up; it is the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone would expect you to fall apart, now that is true strength.”
