Nina Blaszka is the Curriculum and Instruction Office Graduate Assistant. Blaszka is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Oboe Performance at Western Illinois University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Messiah College in Spring 2013.

Blaszka has come all the way from the East Coast, and is a “Jersey Girl.” She graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School in 2009 and subsequently attended Messiah College- Mechanicsburg, PA where she studied with Jill Hoffman. While at Messiah, Blaszka performed as principal in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, and Symphony Orchestra. She was also involved with the Silver Lining Woodwind Quintet, Misfits Trio, Women’s Ensemble and various recitals. She participated in Messiah College’s Chapter of NAfME where she held several executive positions. She also has taught oboe privately in the Mechanicsburg, PA area. During the summers, Blaszka performs as a member of the Greater Harrisburg Concert Band.

Currently, Blaszka performs with the WIU Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. She also serves as the English Horn player with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra. She is a student of Professor Michael Ericson. 

Blaszka will be graduating in May and plans to teach music at the elementary level as well as perform in a local ensemble.
