Sheryl Boston Mrs. Sheryl Boston is a graduate from Western Illinois University with her undergraduate degree in Home Economics Education in 1985 and Master’s degree in Education and Interdisciplinary studies in 2005. Mrs. Boston has also done graduate work at Iowa State University and is currently pursuing a Doctorial degree in Higher Education at Walden University in Baltimore. Prior to joining the staff of Western Illinois University, Mrs. Boston was the foodservice director and dietitian at Memorial Hospital/Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage, IL. While working in industry, Mrs. Boston led the Food and Nutrition department in two 98% scores from the Joint Commission on Accreditation and was active in the Certified Dietary Managers Association.

Mrs. Boston is currently involved in Career and Technical Education and the University Council Committee. The focus of this involvement includes the transition from high school to the university setting. She also taught in the Career and Technical Education program at the LaMoine Valley Educational system. For the doctorial work, the focus of research is the learning styles of students, especially those with special needs in the post secondary setting.

Mrs. Boston teaches Wines of the World, Catering, and Club Management Classes, as well as the professional practices class, preparing and supervising students in their summer internships.
