Professor Webb earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Iowa. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Emporia (KS) State University in elementary education and K-12 reading.
Dr. Webb joined the Educational Leadership Department at Western Illinois University in the fall of 2008. Prior to joining the Department, Dr. Webb was the assistant superintendent for the Bettendorf (Iowa) Community Schools for eight years. She spent twenty years in the Davenport Public Schools serving as Title I Reading and Math Instructor, Reading Specialist, Teacher-in-Charge, and the last seven years as Coordinator for Elementary Language Arts/Reading and Social Studies. She also taught in regular elementary classrooms in Kansas. In addition, she has taught undergraduate and graduate classes for Fort Hays State University, Drake University, and Illinois State University.
Dr. Webb has worked extensively in the area of reading, presenting workshops for local school districts in Iowa, Area Educational Agencies, and at state conferences. She served as Iowa State Reading Association president and as a member of the state board for a number of years. She has done substantial curriculum writing and professional development throughout her career.
Current research interests include educational leadership, data teams, programs and services for special needs students, reading, and student achievement. Dr. Webb has presented at NCPEA, AASA, and NREA.
