Graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia with a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology: Statistics and Measurement, Dr. Sheng joined the Educational Leadership Department in 2007. She teaches Quantitative Methods in Educational Leadership and provides dissertation research support for doctoral students. She also works with faculty members in the College of Education and Human Services, providing research design and data analysis support.
Dr. Sheng has great interest in applying quantitative methods to educational issues. She has worked on several dropout studies investigating school-level variables that influence high school dropout rates. She is also interested in research on English language learners and has studied motivational constructs that underlie the English writing proficiency of English language learners in postsecondary school settings. In the area of educational measurement, she is interested in test equating and test validation.
