Update #5: 2.10.2022

We look forward to seeing so many of you this weekend at the Practice Regional. This event is an optional practice to assure your teams are best prepared for our Regional competition on March 12th. Below is some important information about the event this weekend. 

If participating your team number is... Team numbers are assigned manually after you register your school on scilympiad.com/il . It can take up to 48 hours for your number to be assigned.  If it has been longer than 48 hours please reach out to me and I will contact ISO.  Here is an updated list of everyone assigned a team number ! 

Practice Regional - Build Event Team Number

  • Since this is a practice event, teams will not be receiving feedback on the videos/images submitted.  Despite that, this is a GREAT time to practice using a script and submitting the information requested.  It will give our event supervisors practice grading and give students practice in completing a submission. 

  • To submit scripts for the practice regional all B teams are using the team number B99.

  • To submit scripts for the practice regional all C teams are using the team number C99.

  • THIS IS FOR BUILD EVENT SCRIPTS ONLY, ASSIGNED TEAM NUMBERS WILL BE USED FOR ALL OTHER EVENTS.  

WIDI Clarification

  • The writers will enter Scilympiad at the prescribed testing time and will see the images of what they must describe.  They can do this either written or typed.  Once they are complete, they will upload this document to the script link and set a 4 digit or number passcode for their partner . 

  • This passcode will then be given to the doer (in whatever way you choose…text, email, piece of paper, etc.).  The doer types in this passcode (which was set by the writer) to get access to the written information.  Once the doer is done building they will upload their images to the same script. 

Reminder

  • Please encourage students to look at their events in Scilympiad early!  Some event supervisors post information in the “instructions” section.  This information might be helpful to know ahead of the test. 

  • Please refer to “Email Update #4” for specific information about necessary materials to have ahead of time, target distances/times, guidelines, and submission links for the Practice Regional.

  • This is a PRACTICE REGIONAL, if the system is running slow, please don’t panic!  Do not hit the refresh button and be patient.   

  • Your students may log in any time within the hour of the testing session . For the practice, they do not need to be logged in at the top of the hour but can log in anytime during the hour :)   There are only 10-15 minutes of questions so the whole hour isn’t needed and we are allowing flexibility for the practice.
