College of Education & Human Services

Update #7: 2.26.2022

We are 2 weeks away from the deadline to submit Regional build event scripts! Time sure flies!! Below is some important clarifying information along with the material needs, target distances & times for the Regional events. All build event submissions are due by 5PM on March 11th. It can take up to 48 hours to enter team numbers. You are strongly encourages to registered on Sciylmpiad ASAP because the State has some teams who have not setup an account yet. Once that is completed, then the State will go in and assign a number (within 48 hours).

Competition Schedule: Regional & State

  • The state competition schedule is the same for all state run competitions.  Please plan on THIS schedule of events .

  • Your team number can be found HERE

Build & Hybrid Events

  • The requirements for the build events are provided in the links below.  (This information is also in Scilympiad for student access.)

  • Some events need materials ahead of time and others need target times/distances.  Please see the tables below for that information.  (This information is also in Scilympiad for student access.)

  • The build events will use a script to turn in required videos and images.  The script link is below but also in Scilympiad for student access.

  • If your team needs a list of links whitelisted (because your district blocks the script link) please email Nicole McRee ( nmcree@kcsd96.org ).

  • When entering your students in Scilympiad for build events, V and JV are combined! Place all 4 of your competitors (V and JV) to compete in that event.

Varsity & JV Expectations: Varsity and JV teams are two SEPARATE competing teams.

  • Varsity and JV teams can compete in the same room but should NOT be working together.  The two different competing groups should be far enough apart that they are not able to listen to each other work.

  • Varsity and JV teams should have two different devices for the build/hybrid events.

  • The devices should be labeled with the team number.

  • The video should show the team number on the device as well as the date and time of the recording.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Please see our FAQs that includes lessons learned from our recent practice regional.

  • All Regional devices must be tested within the prescribed time period beginning with the release of information and ending with the turn in deadline and validated by showing a cellphone with the testing date clearly in the video frame.  Regional Timeline:  Beginning 2/24 & Ending 3/11 by 5:00pm

Video Submission: Reminder!

  • Please remember that some districts are blocking student google link permissions even when set to “anyone with link”.  It may be best for the link to come from a coach/parent account in these cases.

  • We are also noticing that this happens with some YouTube links.  If this is the case in your district please send a YouTube link from a coach/parent YouTube account and set the video to unlisted/public.

  • What the supervisor can’t see, they can’t grade!
