Barry Birnbaum is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Western Illinois University. He has experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in special education as well as in elementary and secondary education. Dr. Birnbaum has been a school principal. He has published extensively and his research interests include educational technology and various aspects of special education.
Dr. Birnbaum received the 1991 Florida Teacher of the Year award from the Florida Association for the Gifted and the IBM/Technology and Learning Teacher of the Year Award for the state of Florida in 1992 for excellence in utilizing educational technology.
