Men Advocating Nonviolence
Men Advocating Nonviolence promotes a culture of peace; facilitates a discussion about masculinity, femininity, and violence as learned performances, not inherent ones; encourages men to express themselves in an authentic manner, apart from society's expectations of their gender; and, provides a safe space for men to define their own manhood.
All people, regardless of gender, are welcome to join. Meetings are held on Tuesdays from 5:30 - 6:30 PM in the Women's Center Study Lounge where we discuss and plan our upcoming programs. All are welcome to attend these meetings as well. We hope to eventually create weekly general assembly meetings that provide educational opportunities for those interested in discussing gender-based violence, safe space creation and gender construction.
We would like to send a special thank you to the Center for the Study of Masculinities and Men's Development for their continued support. We would also like to thank our on-campus organizations that have provided us with support as well. We wish you all the best of luck in all your endeavors and look forward to developing our continued relationship.
