 I am a graduate of St. Ambrose College (B.A. 1968) Western Illinois University (M.S. 1975, Ed.S. 1979) and Illinois State University (Ed.D. 2001). I am certified as a school administrator and I hold endorsements as a Superintendent and Chief School Business Official. I have served as a school administrator for 26 years. I have served as superintendent for 16 years in addition to one year as an interim superintendent. I have successfully completed an Illinois School Construction Grant for a new school building.

I am a member of the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA), the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) and the Horace Mann League (HML). I have served as a member several organizations including the Blackhawk Area Special Education District Advisory Council (BHASED) for 15 years and was Chair for two years. For six years I was Chair of the Rock River Cooperative Alternative School Superintendents Board of Directors. I was a member of the Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce School-to-Work Team for two years and was the local Blackhawk Division of IASA Membership Chair for four years. I was the Blackhawk Division of IASA Superintendent of the Year for 2004-2005.

I currently serve on the EDL Department Curriculum Committee and I am a member of the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration (NCPEA). My research interests include school finance, school district consolidation, and distributed leadership.

Since joining the EDL Department at WIU, I have presented at AASA, IASA, and NCPEA on topics ranging from Illinois pension solutions to school district consolidation.
