Biographical Sketch: Joanna E. Graham M.Ed is an Instructor in the Department of Health
Sciences. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed in
Health Education from the Pennsylvania State University in University
Park, PA. Mrs. Graham has been teaching at Western Illinois University
since 1998. Her professional interests include Human Sexuality,
Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Contraceptive Methods and
Pregnancy/Reproduction. She also enjoys teaching the School Health
courses to future PE/Health educators with an emphasis on teaching
methods.
Mrs. Graham is a strong advocate for visually impaired
and blind children. She has spoken at several local and national
events, organized a local support group for parents of visually impaired
children and is a Rapid Responder for the National Organization for
Albinism and Hypopigmentation. She is currently working on several
projects involving assistive technology and the visually impaired
student. She is also Past President of the Macomb Lions Club, Past
President of the local PTO and currently serves with several service and
volunteer agencies with the local school, church and Macomb community.
Mrs.
Graham was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and returns to visit
often. She is married to Dr. Ralph Graham (KIN) and they have two sons. She enjoys watching her sons play sports and enjoys spending time
traveling with her family.
