Graduate Financial Aid

While the program is designed to fit into the lifestyles of working professionals, you may also choose to pursue your graduate degree full-time. To assist you, the Department offers graduate assistantships with monthly stipends and tuition waivers. In addition to graduate assistantships, WIU provides a number of financial aid programs including loans, grants, scholarships, work-study and part-time employment, and other financial aid programs.

Graduate Assistantships

The IDT Department has several graduate assistantships available each year. Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis using undergraduate GPA, scholarship records, recommendations, and/or professional experiences.

Students wishing to apply for these positions must file a Graduate Assistantship Application and submit three letters of recommendation to the IDT Department. Preference is given to students enrolled in the IDT graduate program. Selection is usually made late spring for the following academic year. However, occasionally openings occur at other times.
