Application deadline is March 1st of each spring semester unless otherwise noted.

Richard J. Janoski Security Scholarship

To be eligible, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a full-time, undergraduate Law Enforcement and Justice Administration declared major student who during their senior year,has also a declared Security Minor at either the WIU Macomb or Quad Cities campus.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in all WIU coursework.

American Criminal Justice Association Lambda Alpha Epsilon Phi Alpha Epsilon; WIU Chapter

Year in School: graduate or undergraduate
Major, Other Requirements: Must be Lambda Alpha Epsilon member, 3.0 GPA

Macomb Area Crimestoppers John Bliven Law Enforcement Scholarship

Year in School: Junior, 60 semester hours
Major, Other Requirements: LEJA major, 3.0 GPA, graduated from a McDonough County high school
Amount Awarded Each Year: $500

Comments: Evidence of campus/community involvement. Financial need is considered.

American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Scholarship (WIU Chapter)

Year in School: Full-time student
Major, Other Requirements: 3.0 GPA, declared security minor, completed one security course, currently enrolled in a security course when applying for scholarship.
Amount Awarded Each Year: Two recipients $150.00 each

Keith Webb Scholarship

Year in School: LEJA major
Major, Other Requirements: 3.2 GPA, LEJA major, pre-law minor,, good judicial standing, strong potential for a career in law.

Jerilyn Pecharich Scholarship

Major, Other Requirements: LEJA major-also may consider majors in family and consumer sciences, industrial technology, agriculture, and computer science, good academic standing.

Kara Leigh Broughton Memorial Scholarship

Year In School: full-time student, junior/senior
Major, Other Requirements: LEJA, 3.0 cumulative GPA

Roy Shepard Scholarship for African American Students

Year In School: 60 semester hours, full-time student, African-American

Comments: Not selected by LEJA Honors Committee--application and selection by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Applications forwarded to minorities by scholarship office--student mails application directly to fraternity. LEJA notified of recipient's name by scholarship office.

Harold "Denny" Brignadello Memorial Award

Year in School: Completing internship Fall or Spring semester of next academic year, demonstrated commitment to citizenship, strong moral character, dedication to the work of law enforcement.
Major, Other requirements: LEJA, 3.2 cumulative GPA
Amount awarded: Two recipients $500 each

Dr. Yonah Alexander Counterterrorism Scholarship

Year in School: Senior year student
Major, Other Requirements: LEJA Major and Homeland Security Minor. Preference to current/former law enforcement or military (including ROTC/Reserves); good judicial standing.

Minimum overall 3.3 GPA
Amount Awarded Each Year: $250
Deadline to Apply: March 1
Comments: Not renewable. Include approximately 500-word essay on "What is the role of law enforcement in combating terrorism?”
