Charles Noble first joined the WIU Army ROTC program in October 2010, leaving to serve with Northern Illinois University's Army ROTC program from June 2012 through July 2013, and to deploy with the Illinois Army National Guard from January 2014 through January 2015.

He enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard during his senior year of High School, in August 2001. He earned his commission as an Ordnance Officer through the Illinois Army National Guard’s Officer Candidate School program in August of 2007.  He graduated Cum Laude from Augustana College with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Secondary Education in May of 2008. 

CPT Noble attended the Ordnance Officer Basic Course in 2008, and Logistics’ Captain’s Career Course in 2012. He has served as a Platoon Leader in the 3625th Maintenance Company, Executive Officer of Bravo Company 405th Brigade Support Battalion, Operations Officer of the 405th Brigade Support Battalion, Deputy Brigade S-4 for the 108th Sustainment Brigade, and as the Commander of the Headquarters Company of the 206th Regional Support Group, US Army Reserve.

He has completed two overseas deployments, one to LSA Anaconda, Iraq from February 2004-February 2005, and one to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait from January 2014 to  January 2015 

His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, the Army Service Ribbon, the Combat Action Badge and the Air Assault Badge.
