Robertson is from Ashton, WV. He entered the US Army in November 1993 and attended OSUT at Fort Knox, KY he was awarded the MOS of 19D Calvary Scout. MSG Robertson got out of the Army in January 2001 and worked as a heavy equipment operator until rejoining the Army in January 2003.

MSG Robertson’s past assignments include Loader, Gunner and Team Leader with D Company 3rd BN 73rdAR (ABN), 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Team Leader, A Troop 1st SQDN 17th CAV (ABN), 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Section Sergeant HHC 1st BN 72nd AR, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea; Senior Scout, Platoon Sergeant D Troop 1st BN 509 IN (ABN) Operations Group, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Senior Scout, S3 AIR, Platoon Sergeant, 1st SQDN 40th CAV (ABN) 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska; Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant D Troop 1st BN 509 IN (ABN) Operations Group, Fort Polk, Louisiana; First Sergeant and Operations Sergeants Major 1st SQDN 73rd CAV (ABN), 82nd Airborne Division, For Bragg, North Carolina.

MSG Robertson’s awards include the Bronze Star (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Iraq Campaign Medal (4 Campaign Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Award, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Award), Overseas Service Ribbon (4th Award), Valorous Unit Award,    Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, British Parachutist  Badge. 

MSG Robertson is a Graduate of the Warrior Leaders Course, the Advance Leaders Course, the Seniors Leaders Course, First Sergeant’s Course, Airborne School, Pathfinder School and Jumpmaster Course.

MSG Robertson has three daughters Shelby, Lindsay and Laney.
