Educators for Tomorrow Scholarship

DESCRIPTION:   The  Educators for Tomorrow Scholarship program addresses the traditional under-representation of minorities in the teaching profession.
  
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for this award, the applicant must be a member of an under-represented group and meet all the following requirements:

  1. Be a full-time, undergraduate student enrolled in the teacher education program, with 24 or more semester hours, seeking an initial teaching certificate;
  2. Earn a 3.0 or above cumulative GPA at the end of spring semester;
  3. Show the promise of becoming an outstanding teacher;
  4. Be a sophomore in Fall semester.

HOW TO APPLY:  To be considered for this award, please complete the application.  Applicants should submit application, letter of recommendation and a one-page letter describing why he/she wants to become a teacher.

Scholarship will be renewed of 3.0 Cumulative GPA and enrollment in teacher education are maintained.  Student must apply each year for renewal.

SELECTION OF   RECIPIENTS: Selection will be by committee recommendation.  Award recipients will be notified by mail.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  March 15
 
AWARDS: Sophomore recipients will be awarded $500
