COEHS Technology Staff Fall 2010

Dawn Sweet - Manager, Instructional Development Services

Dawn researches and provides a vision for the implementation of emergent technologies into the fields of education and human services. In addition to oversight of technology support and training for COEHS, she provides related workshops and one-on-one consultations with faculty, and coordinates the Faculty Innovators Program. Dawn also writes blog posts for the COEHS Technology Insights Blog. Her technology specialties include technology integration, mobiles, Web 2.0, virtual worlds, blogs, wikis, social networking, podcasting, online course development, web design, and interactive whiteboards. Dawn completed her M.S.Ed in Educational and Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Illinois University, where she also earned her bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology.

Josh Butcher – Assistant Manager, Instructional Development Services

Josh and a team of qualified Graduate Assistants provide college-specific support for desktop and electronic classroom computing resources. He also oversees the daily functions of the Interactive Multimedia Lab and the Technology Resource Center. Josh’s specific technology skills and interests include podcasting and vodcasting, multimedia authoring, video production and editing, screen casts and screen capture tutorial development, web page development, and blogging. Josh also writes blog posts for the COEHS Technology Insights Blog. He completed his M.S. in Instructional Design and Technology at Western Illinois University where he also earned his bachelors degree. 

Kerry A. Wisdom - Graduate Assistant, Technology Resource Checkout

Kerry A. Wisdom a native of Jamaica and is a Graduate Assistant at Technology Resource Checkout (TRC), where her work involves registering students for TCA/ELL modules and checking in and out technology equipment to faculty members and students of the COEHS. She also assists in the support of hardware, software, and electronic classrooms throughout the college. Prior to her position at TRC, she served as Information Technology teacher at a high school   in Jamaica for five years. Kerry is currently a graduate student at WIU and is majoring in Instructional Design and Technology. She is experienced and interested in technology that aids learning. She is competent in working with the following software: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Indesign, Flash, Illustrator and Lectora.

Michael Kieca – Graduate Assistant, Technology Resource Checkout

Michael Kieca is a Graduate Assistant at Technology Resource Checkout, where his work involves checking in and out technology equipment to faculty members and students of COEHS. He also assists in the support of hardware, software, and electronic classrooms throughout the college. In addition to these responsibilities, Michael presents workshops and writes articles about emergent technologies for the COEHS TechInsights blog. Michael is currently a graduate student at WIU working to receive his Master’s Degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. He is looking to take that knowledge from Law Enforcement and his knowledge in technology to gain a federal agency job or a job in security and surveillance.

Amanda Richards, Interactive Multimedia Lab Assistant

Amanda Richards is a lab assistant for the Interactive Multimedia Lab (IMM lab) where she provides assistance and training to COEHS faculty, staff, and students on a variety of high-end multimedia applications and software.  She also presents workshops and writes articles about emergent technologies for the COEHS TechInsights blog. Amanda is majoring in hospitality with a minor in RPTA.  She is most interested in new technology and interesting websites. Amanda works in programs such as iMovie, Windows MovieMaker, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Garageband.

Whitney Ezell is a lab assistant for the Interactive Multimedia Lab (IMM lab) where she provides assistance and training to COEHS faculty, staff, and students on a variety of high-end multimedia applications and software. She writes and contributes articles about emergent technologies for the COEHS TechInsights blog. As she is a new employee to the lab, she is very eager for new knowledge and enjoys learning how to use the different multimedia software that is available in the lab. Whitney is working towards an Interdiscplinary Studies Degree with emphasis on Law Enforcement and Social Work.

Hayley Dallmann, Interactive Multimedia Lab Assistant

Hayley Dallmann is a lab assistant for the Interactive Multimedia Lab (IMM lab) where she provides assistance and training to COEHS faculty, staff, and students on a variety of high-end multimedia applications and software. She also helps create promotion and advertising materials for the department. Hayley is majoring in Graphic Communications with a minor in Photographic Media. She is most interested in photography, new trends in technology, and graphic design. She works well in programs such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Quark, and other iLife applications.
