Important information for all majors & minors
Authorization Form Process
Students who (1) will have completed 60 credit hours or more by the end of the current semester and (2) now have the minimum overall GPA of 2.5 (there is no GPA requirement for minors):
Both Pre-LEJA majors and LEJA minors will need to turn in an Authorization Form for classes that they want to take in the next semester. Forms will be available from the LEJA advisors in HH99.
You need to make an appointment ASAP so that we can go through your classes for the next semester, remove your advisor encumbrance, and give you an Authorization Form to file. All this needs to be done so that you can register. Minors don't need appointments-stop in the office and identify yourself as an LEJA minor.
Pre-LEJAs who do not currently have the necessary 2.5 GPA:
You will need to register for a full schedule of classes for the next semester other than LEJA 300/400 level courses.
No Authorization Forms will be taken from students who do not have the minimum 2.5 overall GPA.
At the end of the current semester, if you have the 2.5 GPA, you will be granted full acceptance to the major. Your major will be changed to LEJA. You may then go on STARS during semester break and make changes to your schedule and register yourself for the LEJA 300/400 level classes which are open at that time.
Pre-LEJAs who don't achieve the 2.5 GPA at the end of the current semester: you will not be granted full acceptance to the major and you will not be able to register for LEJA 300/400 level courses. We strongly recommend that you register, on time, for at least 12-15 hours so that you will have a full schedule for the next semester.
Pre-LEJAs who will not have completed 60 hours total:
You will need to meet with an LEJA advisor to determine when you are eligible for the upper division classes. This will be done during your appointment for enrollment.
Students listed as LEJA:
Once you have met with your LEJA advisor and have your encumbrance removed, during your registration date you may get on STARS and register for ALL courses. NO Authorization Forms will be needed for LEJA 300/400 level courses.
NOTE: There will be no held/reserved seats, the classes are full when the seats are gone. Closed class permission will only be given when all sections of a particular class are closed. Even though you have filled out an Authorization Form, this will NOT guarantee you a seat in the class. The Authorization will only allow you into classes which are still open at the time you are registering.
