About the Artist
Kat Myers is a Professor of Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design at Western Illinois University.
She came to WIU after earning an MFA from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio. She has a BFA and a MA from Ball State University.
She currently teaches Metalsmithing/Jewelry Design and 3D Design. Professor Myers is a master craftsman whose works are included in private and public collections.
She is a frequent first place, or best of show winner. The University's Mace was designed and crafted by Professor Myers in collaboration with Western alumnus and Emeritus Professor Kenneth B. Epperson. She is a native of Ohio.
