The mission of our undergraduate Art Education program is to prepare future art teachers to meet the challenges of teaching in public school.

Program - Art Education

The Art Education program offers the Bachelor of Arts degree to students interested in teaching at the K-12 grade levels.

The degree prepares students to gain K-12 teacher certification in the state of Illinois. Preparation includes the development of technical and creative skills, exposure to a broad range of media, study of the theory and methods of art education, requirements from the College of Education and Human Services and a background in the historical study of art.
