Majored in German Language and Literature at St. John’s University (Minnesota), then did one year of art school at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design in Minneapolis, MN. Worked various part time jobs (including being a guitarist and bass player in various weekend bands), till I came to WIU in Fall of 1985 to do my Masters degree work. Graduated from WIU in Summer 1987 and went to work immediately in the Communication Arts & Sciences Department (where Broadcasting used to be) teaching what is now BC 100, Intro to Broadcasting. Took a leave of absence to get post-MA degree credit hours so I could get tenured here at WIU, and came back for keeps in Summer 1993. Been here ever since and loving it!
